Our story
Darling Downs Town Planning was established to provide clear, practical and personalised planning advice to landowners, businesses and developers throughout regional Queensland.
Before establishing the business, Director Josh Dixon worked as a town planner in Brisbane for 8 years, gaining first-hand experience across a diverse range of residential, community, retail, recreational, mixed use, commercial and industrial developments, as well as land subdivisions of varying scales.
After relocating to the rural community of Texas in early 2025, he saw an opportunity to combine his professional planning experience with his understanding of regional life and establish a consultancy focused on the needs of country communities.
We understand that navigating the planning system can be complicated. Our approach is to explain the process clearly, identify potential issues early and provide honest, practical advice tailored to each client, property and project.
Our history
Director Josh Dixon holds a Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning from the University of Queensland and began his professional planning career in Brisbane in 2017.
Since then, Josh has gained extensive experience across a broad range of projects. This has given him a strong understanding of Queensland’s planning framework and experience managing projects of varying scales and complexity.
After relocating to regional Queensland in January 2025, Josh established Darling Downs Town Planning to bring this experience to clients throughout Queensland.
